合作项目的性质是什么？
我们的项目是中美合作的教育项目，该项目依托于普城英语集团和中国著名高校的强强联合。本项目由普城英语集团提供教材、教学法、教师培训与认证，具体实施由各地合作高校负责，一般做为合作高校的社会培训项目中的一部分。
为何项目命名为秦苏珊英语中心？
有两个原因。
首先，中心的权威“有机英语”课程全部由秦苏珊亲自设计，这得益于她30多年的英语测试和培训的丰富经验，尤其是她对于网考托福的直接认识。
第二，因为秦苏珊是英语测试及培训的权威，我们采用这个名称是为了使我们这个项目有别于其它的培训机构。
秦苏珊英语中心是什么性质？普城英语集团又是怎样的？二者之间是什么关系？
秦苏珊英语中心是普城英语集团所持有的商标，它也被用来命名在各个合作大学的合作项目。
普城英语集团是一个美国的民营企业 ，它所经营的一个主要领域便是语言培训。
秦苏珊英语中心只是项目的名称，而普城英语集团则是拥有此项目名称的公司。
你们商标标志寓意是什么？
我们的标志是一棵生长的植物，教育帮助人们成长，我们使用一棵植物来说明我们所从事的事业是帮助人们成长并取得成功。如果你仔细看，你会看到一颗在天空中闪耀的星星，鼓励有进取心的学习者去“摘星”（攀登高峰）。
什么是“有机英语”？
“有机英语”是专为在“秦苏珊英语中心”学习的中国学生量身定做的一套学习系统，中心的很多独特之处便是源自“有机英语”的设计理念，例如：完全浸泡、科学的教育法。不去讲太多的细节部分，在此只说一下“科学的教学法”，很多的由西方专家设计的ESL课程是给全球统一使用的，“有机英语”则不同，我们结合了中国目前最优秀的教学法，这种方法充分考虑到了中国学生的特有优势以及英语学习中的难点。
第一阶段的课程是针对于网考托福的备考，今后我们还将开设针对其它主要英语水平考试的课程，比如雅思和托业。

学生完全沉浸在真实的语言材料中。拿托福课程举例，我们课堂上所讲授的任何东西，涉及到的每一篇文章，每一道试题，都是经过秦苏珊根据托福出题原则设计的，教材的质量也是经过她认可的。你们当中有些人可能已经知道，秦苏珊曾在ETS做过多年的托福命题总监。秦苏珊用和ETS一样或更严格的标准来筛选作为我们教材的材料。
关于“科学的教学法”
我们将东方和西方的最优教学法结合起来，提供最前沿的课程和最具针对性的授课方式，学生可以在这世界一流的教学法的指导下获取英语技能。我们有系统地收集课堂反馈意见，不断改进教材内容：这是真正的动态设计过程。同样的，我们的教师培训计划也采用了一些做法来确保我们的授课内容与方法是不断在改进的。我们的教师会定期开会交流讲课心得，并接受有多年跨国教师培训经验的高级培训师的培训。每位教师都能享有第二语言（second-language）教学的最优做法，而每位学生都能得到来自整个教师队伍的集体智慧和指导。

这已经列在我们的计划中，但不是现在。刚开始，我们先提供英语教学。

不，秦苏珊英语中心和ETS无关。2004年苏珊已离开了ETS，她在那里度过了几乎全部的职业生涯，她有很多往日的美好回忆，但是已经不再代表ETS。通过秦苏珊英语中心，苏珊现在有更多的方式可以把精力贡献给中国学生，真正的帮助他们取得成功。

针对网考托福都提供了什么课程？
第一期，我们开设了两门课程分别为基础班和高级班。

针对网考托福的“有机英语”课程分两种：基础和高级，相应的，秦苏珊英语中心分两个班级。基础班使用“网考托福有机英语基础”教程，高级班使用“网考托福有机英语高级”教程。

What is the nature of your joint program?
Our program is a Sino-American co-operative educational program whereby we combine the strengths of Princeton English Group and premier Chinese Universities. This program is delivered by our partner universities in various cities, with teaching materials, pedagogy, teacher training and certification provided by Princeton English Group. The program is generally offered as part of the participating university’s existing extramural training program.
Why did you name your joint program Susan Chyn English Center?
For two reasons:
First, the entire set of Organic English courses used at the center are personally designed and approved by Susan Chyn, taking advantage of her over 30 years of extensive experience in English testing and training; and in particular, her intimate knowledge of the TOEFL iBT.
Second, because Susan Chyn is a well-known authority in the English testing and training community, we are tapping into that to distinguish our program from all other schools in the industry.
What is the Susan Chyn English Center? What is Princeton English Group? What is the relation between the two?
The Susan Chyn English Center is a trademark owned by Princeton English Group. It is also used to designate our joint program at each participating university.
Princeton English Group is a private American company. One major area of its business focus is in the field of language training.
The Susan Chyn English Center is a program name and Princeton English Group is a Company which owns the Susan Chyn English Center program name.
What does your trademark logo design signify?
The logo depicts a growing plant. Education is helping people grow; so we use a growing plant to show that we are in the business of helping people grow and succeed. If you look carefully, you can find a star shining in the sky. Motivated learners will “reach for the stars.”
What is Organic English?
Organic English is a learning system specifically designed for Chinese students studying at the Susan Chyn English Center. Some unique features of the Susan Chyn English Center, such as total immersion and the scientific pedagogy, are derived from the design principals of Organic English. Without going into too much detail, let us just talk about “scientific pedagogy”. Many of the ESL courses created by westerners are designed for global use. Organic English is different. It takes full advantage of the best pedagogy developed in China that addresses the unique combination of Chinese students’ strengths and learning difficulties.
The first set of courses is geared towards TOEFL iBT test preparation. In the future, there will be courses for other major English proficiency tests, such as IELTS and TOEIC®.

These features are a reflection of how we design our training materials, how we develop our teaching staff, and how we manage our center, with the ultimate goal of helping students to succeed.
A word about “total immersion”: Students are immersed in nothing but authentic materials. Take the TOEFL courses for example, everything we teach in class, every passage, every question, is based on the general principles shaping real TOEFL material and represents a quality that meets Susan Chyn’s approval. As some of you may already know, Susan was the TOEFL group head for many years at ETS. She uses the same, if not more rigorous criteria in screening the materials that are used in our courses.
About “scientific pedagogy”: We have combined the best of East and West in our teaching methods. We offer up-to-date and tailored-made instruction, so that students have the luxury of acquiring English skills through world-class pedagogy. Through the feedback we systematically collect from the classroom, we update our courses in what is truly a dynamic design process. Similarly, our teacher development program is built on processes that help ensure ongoing improvement in instructional content and methods. Will you be offering services that help students with school applications for overseas studies?
It is in the planning but not right away. Initially, we will only offer English instruction.
Is the Susan Chyn English Center connected with ETS?
No, the Susan Chyn English Center is not connected with ETS. Susan left ETS in 2004 after spending most of her professional life at ETS. She has had many fond memories of those days, but she does not represent ETS anymore. Through the Susan Chyn English Center, she is now able to devote herself to Chinese students in many more ways, and to really help them succeed.
Are there websites we can visit to find out more about the Susan Chyn English Center?
Yes. This website has all the details. Its URL is www.susanchyn.com.cn. Susan Chyn also maintains a web page and a forum on Sina.com’s Education Channel. There Susan talks about English for the Global Workplace as well as many general English topics (Susan interviewed at Sina.com in May 2005). Additionally, there is a forum she administers on 21th Century’s website, where she talks with many web friends.
What courses are you offering for TOEFL iBT?
We have 2 courses for the first run, which correspond to 2 proficiency levels--foundation and advanced.
In the future, there will be courses designed for other areas where Chinese students have specific needs, such as speaking and writing. There will also be a larger variety of class arrangements, making it easier to fit our class times into students’ schedule.
Tell us about the Organic English courses and the Susan Chyn English Center classes?
There are 2 Organic English courses for TOEFL iBT, Foundation and Advanced. There are also 2 level Susan Chyn English Center classes. The Foundation level class uses the “Organic English for TOEFL iBT Foundation” course. The advanced level classes use the “Organic English for TOEFL iBT Advanced” course.
